It has been revealed today that former Manchester City winger, Robinho, is to be jailed for nine years after having been found guilty of sexual assault by a court in Italy.
Five other men were involved in the alleged incident which took place at a nightclub in Milan. It happened while he was playing for AC Milan in January 2013.
The court has found him guilty but the sentence will not be enforced until the appeal process has been completed.
Robinho joined Premier League big hitters Manchester City in 2008 for a then British record fee of £32.5 million from Real Madrid.
He struggled to fit in at the Etihad Stadium and never really adapted to English football and was subsequently sold to AC Milan just two years later.
The 33-year-old has also been capped 100 times by his country’s national side.
